Day 125: Great sunrise

Day: 125 Miles: 19 Trip:  1733.9 Started: The Lookout (1714.9) Destination: random campsite, West Hartford, VT

Well, the rude hiker from last night was almost worth the view this morning.  I got up early and headed out to see the sunrise.  The rain from the night before had mostly lifted and a dense fog had set in.  The Lookout is aptly named for its lookout platform built on top of the shelter.  I went up to the platform and was rewarded with one of the better views I have had so far.  The fog was starting to settle in the lower valleys and an upper
cloud later was forming a ceiling a few thousand feet higher.  I waited for the sun to come up and illuminate the lower fog and got some great photos.  These mountains are only in the 3000' foot range in this section, but the lower fog gave them the feeling of being much higher.  I stayed and took a few dozen photos.    After setting out I again got some great shots of the sun through the thinning fog.  A great day for pictures and with the trail smoothing out it made for a great hiking day.

Dry trail did not last :(
