Finally a great day in the Smoky's even though it was near the end. The sun was out all day and after about five miles I had descended below the snow level and once again entered clear trail. Sometimes its the little things that matter like being able to walk ten steps in a row without concentrating on every single step.
Even though the trail was getting down below the ridge line it was good to be out of the snow. I'm glad to be out of the higher mountains for now, but would love to come back here sometime and experience the ridge lines without all the ice and s
